VFR-360: functional and sports performance assessment

Turn your results into priorities, decisions and an action plan.

We assess the capabilities that matter for your injury, sport and goals. We combine the data with your clinical and sporting context to understand what is working well, what is limiting your progress and what to address first.

Created by RECFISPORTto assess, interpret and guide the next step.

From data to decisions

It is not about doing more tests, but measuring what matters

VFR-360 structures the assessment so the results can be applied directly to your recovery, training or return to sport.

01

Purposeful measurement

We select tests according to your situation and the real demands of your activity.

02

Professional interpretation

We relate the data to your symptoms, history, goals and progress.

03

Practical application

We define strengths, priorities, actions and criteria for reassessment.

For different levels and goals

You do not need to be a professional athlete to benefit from an objective assessment

At RECFISPORT, we assess active people, athletes recovering from injury and high-performance athletes facing demanding workloads. The depth of the assessment changes, but the rigour of our measurements does not.

Active people and amateur athletes

Train with clearer direction

To establish your starting point, understand recurring symptoms or identify capabilities worth improving.

Injury and recovery

Measure what still needs to improve

To quantify limitations, monitor progress and support decisions during physiotherapy or sports rehabilitation.

High performance

Meet demanding performance requirements

To build a broader profile, monitor changes and coordinate priorities with the coaching or healthcare team.

What is VFR-360?

A comprehensive, modular and personalised assessment

It is not a single test or a generic score. It is a system that brings together useful information and turns it into clear decisions.

Important: not everyone needs every module. The test battery is tailored to the reason for assessment and the stage of the process.
  • After an injury: to quantify capabilities that may remain limited even after pain has improved.
  • During sports rehabilitation: to guide progressions and monitor how the athlete responds.
  • Before returning to training or competition: to support the decision with objective criteria and clinical context.
  • For injury prevention and performance: at the start of the season, before increasing training load, or to establish baseline values and monitor changes over time.
  • For recurring symptoms or uncertainty: to examine modifiable capabilities and decide what to prioritise instead of relying solely on how things feel.

What we can assess

Capabilities that influence your function and performance

The exact combination depends on your sport, injury, stage of recovery and goals.

M01

Mobility

We analyse relevant ranges of motion and differences that may affect tasks or sporting movements.

Range of motion · comparisons · response during movement
M02

Motor control

We observe how you organise movement and maintain technique during progressively demanding tasks.

Movement pattern · coordination · segmental control
M03

Balance

We assess stability and control in static or dynamic single-leg tasks relevant to your activity.

Single-leg support · stability · quality of execution
M04

Strength

We quantify force production and compare sides, muscle groups or assessments.

Absolute values · differences · progress
M05

Power and impact

We examine explosive actions and responses to jumping, landing or other high-demand tasks.

Jumping · power · movement strategy
M06

Sport-specific endurance

We assess how well performance is maintained during repeated efforts or a prolonged relevant task.

Tolerance · consistency · response to fatigue
Data are not interpreted in isolation. We also consider symptoms, perceived function, history, training load and personal goals.

Objective measurement

Measurement enables comparison; interpretation enables decisions

We use objective measurement systems and reproducible procedures to quantify capabilities such as strength, mobility, balance, jumping and endurance.

  • Establish a baseline that does not rely solely on how things feel.
  • Compare assessments performed under similar conditions.
  • Identify changes that may not be apparent to the naked eye.
  • Communicate more effectively with the athlete and other professionals about the results.
Measurement does not replace professional reasoning. A value, asymmetry or isolated result is not a diagnosis: it needs context before it can inform a useful decision.

What matters is being able to answer specific questions

The purpose of technology is not to generate more numbers, but to improve the quality of decisions.

Current statusWhich capabilities are affecting function?
ProgressHas it genuinely changed after the work completed?
PriorityWhere will focused effort make the greatest difference?
Next stepWhat should be maintained, progressed or reassessed?

Assessment formats

One- or two-hour sessions, depending on the depth your case requires

Duration does not depend solely on your sporting level. It depends on the question we need to answer, the number of relevant capabilities and the complexity of the process.

1hour

Focused assessment

Suitable when there is a specific goal and the assessment can focus on a particular body region, capability or decision.

  • Assess a specific limitation or capability.
  • Review strength, mobility, balance or jumping in a focused manner.
  • Repeat previously established tests.
  • Guide the next step in a case with relatively few variables.
2hours

Comprehensive assessment

Suitable when we need to examine several capabilities, build a more complete profile or address a more demanding situation.

  • Complex injuries, recurrences or prolonged recovery processes.
  • A broad assessment before returning to training or competition.
  • Athletes with high demands or multiple goals.
  • A complete baseline profile for planning and monitoring progress.

Not sure which option to choose? Tell us about your situation and we will recommend the right duration before you book.

Ask which assessment I need

How it works

From assessment to action plan

We gather the relevant context, select appropriate tests and interpret the results to define priorities and next steps.

Context and goals

We review your reason for consultation, sport, history, symptoms, current training load and the activities you want to recover or improve.

Personalised test battery

We select the modules and tests that can answer the key questions in your case.

Integrated interpretation

We organise the results, distinguish relevant findings and avoid conclusions based on a single data point.

Report and next step

You receive a visual summary of strengths, priorities, goals, recommendations and a proposed follow-up plan.

What you receive

A report that turns the assessment into a roadmap

We explain what the results mean and how they can be applied to your recovery or training.

01Clear interpretation

Key results explained without treating every difference as a problem.

02Strengths and priorities

Which capabilities are relatively well preserved and which deserve greater attention.

03Goals and actions

What to address first and how to apply it to rehabilitation, sports rehabilitation or training.

04A baseline for reassessment

What should be repeated to monitor progress using the same procedure.

When it can help

One tool, different questions

The assessment changes according to what needs to be decided at each stage.

Injury recovery

Quantify affected capabilities and prioritise the work that follows.

Return to sport

Provide objective information alongside clinical progress and gradual exposure.

Recurrence or stalled progress

Identify limitations that may be missed in a basic assessment.

Performance baseline

Establish a baseline for comparing changes after a period of training.

Continuity of care

The assessment does not end when testing is over

VFR-360 can be used as a standalone assessment or integrated into a physiotherapy and sports rehabilitation programme.

Sports physiotherapy

For pain, an active injury or a limitation that requires clinical assessment and treatment.

Frequently asked questions

Before booking your assessment

How do I know whether I need a one- or two-hour session?

A one-hour session is usually suitable for a specific question or capability. A two-hour session allows us to combine several modules and address more complex or demanding situations. If you are unsure, we will briefly review your case before you book.

Do I need to be injured to have a VFR-360 assessment?

No. It can be carried out during recovery, before returning to sport, or to establish a functional and performance baseline. The test battery changes according to the goal.

Can an assessment prevent injuries?

No assessment can predict or guarantee that an injury will not occur. VFR-360 can establish an objective baseline, examine modifiable capabilities and track how they change with training, workload or competition.

Are all available tests performed?

No. We select only the modules and tests that can provide useful information for your case. More tests do not necessarily lead to better decisions.

Will I receive a report?

Yes. The report covers the relevant results, their interpretation, strengths, priorities, goals and follow-up recommendations.

Can it tell me whether I can return to competition?

It can provide objective information for the process, but return to sport should not be decided on the basis of a single test. Clinical progress, exposure to load, confidence and sport-specific demands must also be considered.

Can I share it with my coach or healthcare professional?

Yes. You can use the report to coordinate goals and progressions with other professionals involved in your recovery or training.

Your next step

Do not rely on feel alone

Tell us what you want to recover or improve and we will guide you towards the most appropriate assessment.

Test selection and conclusions depend on the individual assessment. Isolated data do not replace clinical reasoning and cannot, on their own, guarantee injury prevention or a safe return to sport.
